Home Movies used to air on UPN? Why is on Adult Swim now?
"Home Movies" was created for UPN. The network wanted a show about a single mother told from her child's point of view. The first five episodes of the series aired in the spring of 1999, after which UPN cancelled the show, citing a lack of male viewers for a show that was initially created to draw in female viewers as the reason for its cancellation. 9_9

Luckily, Cartoon Network picked up the show in 2000, and put it back into production. It premiered on Adult Swim in September of 2001 and has since been renewed for three additional seasons, the most recent premiering in January of 2004.

When will season 3 air in the UK?
I don't know. Nor do I live in the UK. I don't have any information on when Home Movies airs in other countries (or if it even airs at all). Sorry.

What are Squigglevision and Retroscripting?
Squigglevision is the animation technique used by Soup2Nuts in the first season of Home Movies. The shows "Dr. Katz: Professional Therapist" and "Science Court" were also done in Squigglevision. Soup2Nuts now animates all of its shows in Flash.

Retroscripting is the "writing" style used to script Soup2Nuts shows. The comedians who voice the characters make up the script as they go along while recording the episode. In other words, improvised dialogue, the highlight of the show. From the second season onward, episodes were more scripted than retroscripted, but (supposedly) still partially improvised.

Where can I download episodes of Home Movies?
Your best bet is to search for the episodes or through filesharing programs. There are site(s?) that release bittorrents of the episodes out there, but I don't feel comfortable giving out their addresses, as this sort of thing has gotten these sites shut down in the past. If you search long enough, you're bound to find them. Don't email me asking, I won't tell you. :P

Where can I buy Home Movies merchandise? How about DVDs?
You can buy Home Movies t-shirts and caps at the Soup2Nuts website.

A DVD release is rumoredly in the works. We do know that co-creator Loren Bouchard is pushing for the release, and that there definitely is a demand for HM DVDs. However, unlike the other Adult Swim shows, Home Movies is owned by Scholastic, not by Turner/Cartoon Network/whatever. If you like, you can sign our magical, never-ending DVD petition!!1one

Can I borrow the images/sounds/information on your site and use them on mine?
Nope, sorry. I've had the content of my site stolen/manipulated by other people for their own sites way too many times as it is.

About this site:
This site has been around since (I'm guessing on the date here...it's close enough) February 18, 2002. It was originally just one page of my extremely crappy fan art. A month or so later, it magically turned into a full-blown fansite with an episode guide and a schedule and everything else. I started the sound clip thing sometime that summer, I think, and that was right around when Slapstick changed from "the fan art site" to "the sound clip site." :P

When I started this site two years ago, I was a very bored junior in high school with way too much time on her hands. Now, I'm a freshman in college with too much time on her hands. The main difference now is that I don't have cable anymore. Which is why this site often goes for long periods of time without any updates. I've started updating it recently (1/04) mainly because lots and lots of people are visiting and because I don't have anything better to do. Come May, I'll be able to catch up on all the episodes I've missed and hopefully update the site further.

As far as contacting me goes, please only email me if you have a damned good reason. If you want to discuss the show, post a message on the forum. The forum might be dead, but the regulars do still check it every so often. Well...at least I do. :P If you absolutely to email me, though, my address is pathetic1@operamail.com.
